Why I Love This Time of Year in Sioux Falls ❄️✨
Every year, as the seasons change in Sioux Falls, I’m reminded of why I love calling this city home. There’s an energy in the air—a mix of anticipation, warmth, and togetherness—that makes this time of year truly special.

A City Wrapped in Light and Cheer 🌟🎄

It’s impossible not to smile when the city transforms with twinkling lights and festive decorations. Whether you’re driving through Falls Park’s Winter Wonderland or strolling downtown with a cup of hot cocoa, Sioux Falls feels like a holiday postcard come to life. The glow of the lights and the sound of laughter make even the chilliest evenings feel cozy.

Traditions That Bring Us Together 🤍✨

Some of my favorite memories are made at local events—holiday markets, tree lightings, and winter festivals that fill the calendar with cheer. But what stands out most in my heart is something closer to home. For many years, our neighborhood would come alive as Angel Lane each one shining brightly and filling the streets with a peaceful glow. Walking or driving past those glowing angels, surrounded by neighbors and friends, always made the holidays feel extra magical and connected us all in a special way.

Warm Moments With Family (and Our Four-Legged Friends) 🐾❤️

This season is also about the quiet, heartfelt moments spent with family. I treasure our walks with Hunter, our goofy German Shepherd, and Bella, our sweet grand-puppy. There’s something about watching them play and run alongside us that just makes the world feel right. Bella’s dad is serving overseas in the military, so having her with us feels especially meaningful.

Simple Joys in Every Moment ☕❄️

It’s not just the big events. I love the simple pleasures: watching the first snowflakes fall, cozing up on the couch in front of the fireplace, or taking a quiet walk along the river. It’s these everyday moments that make the holiday season in Sioux Falls so meaningful and remind me why this Sioux Falls community feels like home.

Looking Ahead With Gratitude 💛🏡

This time of year always inspires me to reflect on what matters most—family, friends, and the sense of belonging that Sioux Falls offers. Whether you’re a longtime resident or new to town, I hope you find as much joy in this season as I do. Here’s to making new memories, cherishing old ones, and embracing everything that makes this city so special.
